This set was released in 1993. Michael Jordan continued his unmatched ability to take control of the game and inspired the greatness in his teammates. The Bulls got their third consecutive NBA title. And Jordan himself got his seventh straight scoring title and reached a milestone in his NBA career when scoring his 20.000th point. It seemed as if nothing could stop this high flying athlete. The Jordans 8 series was designed a little heavier than the former ones. Its base was clearly close to its predecessor but it had a lot more details, colors and accents. It had cross-over Velcro or leather straps and was so padded to your foot that would surprise you. Due to the thick padding, the shoe was heavy but it easily got warm. Maybe it was the heat that bothered Michael with athlete's foot infections during the season. You could make out a peace sign on the tounge of the White or Black and All-star versions, so some collectors came to call this specific the flower-power Air Jordan. What surprised us most was that this kind of shoe was only made in three different color combinations. The previous models had sold very well and so did the VIII's. But it's surprising that Nike decided not to make more of this set, though the quantity of shoes was produced much lower than the VII's. In 1993, the Air Jordan Ⅷ’s packaging came in a black Jumpman Box, with brochures about shoes, Flight Club Membership Application and black plastic wrapper on those Air Jordan Shoes.
